A tree in full green leaves

In Psalm 1 God chooses a tree—not a fast‑growing weed or a fragile flower—to show us what a blessed life looks like.

A tree doesn’t flourish by accident. It thrives because it’s planted in the right place. Its roots sink deep into a steady source of life. That’s the picture of a believer who delights in God’s Word and draws strength from Him day after day. Even when life feels uncertain, the roots remain nourished.

As we have started working on our yard and plants for the year I was reminded of these truths. Buds form before blossoms. Roots strengthen before branches stretch. The Lord often does His deepest work in us beneath the surface preparing us to bare good fruit in His time. The only true way we can flourish is when our life is firmly planted in Him.
