Sun shining through clouds

If you’re like at some point you have felt a sense of homesickness. We all long for something that is permanent, known, and comfortable. We long to be home. But this world isn’t it.

Scripture teaches us that our bodies are comparable to tents. They are temporary, fragile, and prone to decay. But the resurrection body to come is like a house. It is eternal and secure. Our earthly fallen bodies ache under the weight of weakness, disease, and sin. But by faith, we look forward to being clothed with eternal and perfect life. God has prepared this future for us, and He’s given us His Spirit as a guarantee.

That discomfort that we feel that life could or should be better is a gift from God. It reminds us that we weren’t made for this world. The hope of Jesus Christ isn’t for a spirit-only future but for a body that has been gloriously and perfectly resurrected. Since Jesus conquered death, those united to Him by faith will share in His victory.

Our body may feel like a worn-out tent, but a resurrection house is coming if you have put your faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. Don’t walk by sight but walk by faith in the promise of eternal life.
