We all tend to ask God to work out so many things in our lives. However, it’s harder for us to accept the fact that if we truly want these things to take place, we have to do our part. We’re reminded of this story of a little girl who was running late for Sunday school:

“As she ran as fast as she could she prayed, "Dear Lord, please don't let me be late! Dear Lord, please don't let me be late!" As she was running and praying, she tripped on a curb and fell, getting her clothes dirty and tearing her dress. She got up, brushed herself off, and started running again. As she ran she once again began to pray, "Dear Lord, please don't let me be late... but please don't shove me either!””

This little girl may, or may not, have been able to avoid being late, but she wanted God to work it out. However, she didn’t want to be shoved either. The truth is … sometimes we need God to shove us to accomplish His purpose and will.
